A story about happiness, nature, friendship, and the journey toward knowing who we are.
In the enchanted forest of Mungará, a boy named Kiné goes looking for luck and happiness and meets Marzul, a jaguar searching for her own beauty. Their unlikely friendship grows as each begins to see themselves in the other, and the forest becomes a living presence that asks every child to look at themselves, and at everyone else, with care.
With warmth and a playful, lyrical voice, Daniel Hahn’s translation brings to life a story about happiness, our bond with the natural world, and the journey toward knowing who we are.
First published by Boitatá in 2025, it is also part of a wider project that includes the animated series Tales of Mungará.
THEMES: nature, friendship, self-knowledge, Brazilian fauna and flora, the environment.
